Did you know that one of the sons of Jacob sons is the patriarch of the line of Moses? And one is the line of Judges? One the line of David?
One of his sons is even the patriarch to the line of Jesus!

Angels In The Bible

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some
have entertained angels unawares." [Hebrews 13:2]

There are many different depictions of angels in the world today. We are fascinated by the idea of heavenly beings, and it's not hard to find jewelry, art, or even garden decor depicting tiny baby cherubs or elegant beings . . .
Do you believe in angels? How would you recognize an angel if you saw one? Are the different kinds? Are they people who have died and gone to heaven? You may be surprised to see what the Bible has to say about angels! Come find out . . .

Children's Bible Study

"I have been teaching this class and it has been such a joy to share my faith and have them share their faith with me.  My goal is to find new and exciting ways to help the children explore their faith and develop a life-long bond with Christ." - Laurie Sandham

The Children's Bible Study class usually starts around age 7 or 8, depending on the child's comfort level.  They are not required to be fluent readers but need to understand that they will be opening their Bibles and following along each week and quite often will often be using their workbooks.  They also need to be able to sit and engage in discussions.  Children's Bible Study begins right at 10:00 am.  We encourage the children to come to class as soon as they arrive at church so we can get a jump on that day's lesson.   They are given the book, chapter and verse that they will be learning about that day and will each find it in their own Bibles.   We go upstairs for children's talk and communion but the rest of the time in spent in the classroom.    Time permitting, the children also take part in "Bible Challenge" games where they need to sort the books of the Bible as quickly as they can and "Bible Quiz" where they test their memory of what they have learned not only that day but earlier that year and sometimes even the previous year.

Confirmation Preparation

Would you like to get confirmed in the Anglican Church?
Would you like to renew your baptismal vows and grow in your faith? Would you like to learn more about the Anglican Church, the Bible, and about the origins of the Christian church? Would you like to learn more about why we do what we do during worship?

I plan to start confirmation classes this fall ~ 1 class for youth and 1 class for adults. The classes will be held for 1 hour every 2 weeks from mid-September 2019 until Easter 2020.
Confirmation will be scheduled for the week after Easter (April 19, 2020). We will select a meeting day and time that works for everyone.
Youth need to be at least 13 years of age and in Grade 8 or higher. Please pray about your decision to become a confirmation candidate. I can’t wait to journey with you and to help you “run with perseverance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1)

You will be confirmed by Archbishop Anne Germond through the laying on of hands with this prayer:
“Strengthen, O Lord, your servant with your Holy Spirit; and empower him/her for your service; and sustain him/her all the days of his/her life.” (BAS 628)

Our introductory meeting will be held on Sunday, September 22, right after the 10 am service. We will meet upstairs in the chapel.
There is no charge for this programme in your Christian development and all materials will be supplied by Archdeacon Deborah.
