Rector's Bible Study - Revelation

In response to your requests, I am bringing you this study of the last book in the Bible, the Revelation. The book of Revelation is a powerful book of Jewish apocalyptic literature, and it has been misunderstood because of the many symbolic images, and frightening perceptions.

Did you know that the mention of Babylon refers to Rome? The book is actually a love story and a story of immense hope about the power of Christ in our lives.
We will examine the symbolism and the themes that cover the resurrected Christ, his words to 7 churches, persecution of Christians and the victory of Christ.
The entire book moves towards the climax of Christ’s return and a new heaven and a new earth.
This study guide for the book of Revelation was published in 2015.

Confirmation Preparation

Would you like to get confirmed in the Anglican Church?
Would you like to renew your baptismal vows and grow in your faith? Would you like to learn more about the Anglican Church, the Bible, and about the origins of the Christian church? Would you like to learn more about why we do what we do during worship?

I plan to start confirmation classes this fall ~ 1 class for youth and 1 class for adults. The classes will be held for 1 hour every 2 weeks from mid-September 2019 until Easter 2020.
Confirmation will be scheduled for the week after Easter (April 19, 2020). We will select a meeting day and time that works for everyone.
Youth need to be at least 13 years of age and in Grade 8 or higher. Please pray about your decision to become a confirmation candidate. I can’t wait to journey with you and to help you “run with perseverance the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1)

You will be confirmed by Archbishop Anne Germond through the laying on of hands with this prayer:
“Strengthen, O Lord, your servant with your Holy Spirit; and empower him/her for your service; and sustain him/her all the days of his/her life.” (BAS 628)

Our introductory meeting will be held on Sunday, September 22, right after the 10 am service. We will meet upstairs in the chapel.
There is no charge for this programme in your Christian development and all materials will be supplied by Archdeacon Deborah.
